Research Work experience |
Massimo PancioneÌý received his B.A. degree in biochemistry from University of Naples, Federico II, Italy and its PhD degree fromÌý University of Sannio, Benevento, Italy. He worked on the human promoter of the retinol binding protein Ìýas undergraduate student with Prof. Vittorio ColantuoniÌý in Naples. Next, he completed a researchÌý training at National Research Council, Avellino, Italy andÌý the Spanish National Cancer Research Center, Madrid, Spain working on a mice models of intestinal diseaseÌý and cancer.ÌýÌý ÌýWhile working in Dr. Colantuoni laboratory he was the first to discover a link betweenÌý epigenetic modulation of PPARG and human colorectal cancers, a finding considered as a milestone in the field.Ìý He is currentlyÌý a Researcher of Molecular BiologyÌý and heads the laboratory of MolecularÌý Oncology and signal Transduction at ҹɫè of Science and Technology, University of Sannio, Benevento, Italy. In the last years, his research has focused on understanding the molecular basis of how malignant cells evade immune system mediate-destruction with applicability for predictive prognostic markers and implementation of molecularly targeted cancer therapies. The translational impact of novel therapeutic targets as well as molecules for the treatment of colorectal is one of the main aims of the laboratory. Another major interest is the study of theÌý centrosome linker proteins in health and diseases. These latter studies are beginning to shed light on the molecular basis of mitotic errors in extremely malignant human disorders. Ìý Ìý |
