DING ҹɫè Presentation

The ҹɫè of Engineering at the University of Sannio (DING), listed for the second time among the ҹɫès of Excellence of state universities, was established on October 24, 2001.
Following the enactment of Law 240 on December 30, 2010, starting from September 10, 2013, the ҹɫè of Engineering assumed the functions related to teaching and training activities (degree programs, master’s, and doctoral courses) that were previously under the Faculty of Engineering, now deactivated.
The ҹɫè of Engineering was created through the collaboration of three major areas: Civil and Environmental Engineering, Industrial Engineering, and Information Engineering, to guarantee cutting-edge research and a broad educational offer.
The main goals of the ҹɫè consist of organizing and developing research in the fields covered by the aforementioned scientific-disciplinary sectors and coordinating structures, activities, and research programs, while respecting the scientific autonomy of individual professors and researchers and their right to directly access research funding. Moreover, the ҹɫè is tasked with promoting cooperation among the various scientific areas and fostering a multidisciplinary approach to research funding offered by the Government, Regions, national and international bodies, and especially by the European Union and industries.
Finally, it supports and monitors the quality of research activities conducted internally with the aim of gaining national and international scientific relevance, and collaborates in teaching activities related to courses in its scientific-disciplinary fields of competence, including degree programs, master’s courses, and doctoral programs.
The University of Sannio, through the ҹɫè of Engineering, has entered for the second time the list of the 19 ҹɫès of Excellence of state universities, included in the “Industrial and Information Engineering” area by the Ministry of University and Research, for the five-year period 2023-2027.
This is a significant recognition for UNISANNIO’s research. These are 180 ҹɫès distinguished by the quality of their research and development projects, which have been allocated a total annual budget of 271 million euros.
“The UNISANNIO ҹɫè of Engineering, already recognized as Excellent in the previous 2017 selection, reconfirms its leading position at the national level, in a highly competitive context.”
