Internship

The internship is a practical educational activity, usually carried out towards the end of the academic program either within the university or externally, based on specific agreements with companies, public institutions, research centers, and professional studios.

The duration of the internship corresponds to the number of ECTS (European Credit Transfer and Accumulation System) credits indicated in the academic curriculum of the Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree Program.

According to Art. 5, paragraph 1 of Ministerial Decree 270/2004, each ECTS credit corresponds to 25 hours of student work.

Internship activities may be related to the final degree project or Master’s thesis.

All forms and documentation related to the internship are available at this [link].

External Internship
The external internship takes place at companies or institutions that have an agreement with the University, including those located abroad.
If the company or institution is not yet partnered (see the database), the agreement must be signed before the internship begins.

The agreement must follow the standard format of a “Training and Orientation Internship Agreement.”

The agreement must be submitted at least 30 days before the expected start date of the internship, signed with a digital signature, and sent via certified email to:
§ amministrazione@cert.unisannio.it

Within 7 days of the internship start date, the student and the university tutor, based on the signed agreement, must email to:
§ sad.ding@unisannio.it,
The Training and Orientation Plan, countersigned by the President of the relevant Degree Program Council, isto activate the internship and ensure insurance coverage.

At the end of the internship, the tutor and the student must submit to the Program Council President:

  • A final report on the activities carried out,
  • The attendance logbook.

The activities are assessed by a Committee chaired by the Program Council President or a delegate.

If the internship is carried out abroad under the Erasmus program, it must also be approved as part of the Erasmus study plan according to the relevant procedures.

Internal Internship
Alternatively, the internship can be carried out internally, either partially or entirely, within the University’s laboratories.
Even for internal internships, the Training and Orientation Plan must be countersigned in advance by the Program Council President at least 7 days before the start of the internship.

At the end of the internship, the tutor and the student must submit a final report to the Program Council President.

As with external internships, internal internship activities are verified by a Committee chaired by the Program Council President or a delegate.

The Training and Orientation Plan must be countersigned by the President of the relevant Degree Program Council for both internal and external internships.

Post-Graduate Internship
Graduates within 12 months of obtaining their degree may carry out a post-graduate training and orientation internship at companies or institutions partnered with the University.
The internship cannot exceed 6 months, including any extensions.

The internship does not constitute an employment relationship, and therefore, companies are not obligated to offer employment during or after the internship.

The procedures for starting, conducting, and concluding the post-graduate internship are the same as those outlined for the external internship above.
At the end of the internship, the tutor and the student must submit a final report to the Program Council President.

Post-graduate internship activities are not subject to examination.
