The Erasmus+ programme

The Erasmus+ programme, an acronym for EuRopean ҹɫè Action Scheme for the Mobility of University Students, is a European Union student mobility program that allows university students from EU countries to spend a legally recognized study period at a university in another EU member state.

The name of the program derives from the Dutch humanist and theologian Erasmus of Rotterdam (1466/69–1536), who traveled across Europe for many years to gain an understanding of its diverse cultures.

The Erasmus programme offers European students the opportunity to study or undertake an internship in another EU member state for a period ranging from 2 to 12 months for internships, and from 3 to 12 months for academic studies.
Student mobility is also possible to several non-EU European countries such as Liechtenstein, Iceland, Norway, North Macedonia, and Turkey.
