Courses in a Foreign Language

Each academic year, the University Language Centre (CLAUS) offers training activities aimed at addressing basic language gaps for students preparing to take foreign language courses.

The first of the two foreign language courses offered in the Single-Cycle Master’s Degree in Law, as well as the language courses in the Bachelor's Degrees in Business Economics, Banking and Financial Economics, and Statistical and Actuarial Sciences, are designed to bring students from an A2 to a B1 language proficiency level. These courses are therefore intended for students who already possess an A2 level of foreign language knowledge, which is recommended to successfully follow the lessons.

The second of the two foreign language courses in the Single-Cycle Master’s Degree in Law and the language course in the Master’s Degree in Economics and Management aim to bring students from a B1 to a B2 level. These courses are intended for students who already possess a B1 level of language proficiency, and are recommended to attend classes effectively.

Before the start of the foreign language courses, students are given a placement test to determine their current language proficiency level. Students who do not meet the recommended level can acquire it by attending free preparatory courses organized by CLAUS. All foreign language courses within the study programs include, increasingly depending on the level, modules in specialized language.

The DEMM study programs may annually offer training activities that are fully or partially delivered in a foreign language, in addition to the standard curricular activities.
